ZINA GOLESKI
(WLASIUK)
September 11, 1926-September 28, 2022
Peacefully, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, Zina passed away at the age of 96.
Zina will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Garry (Monica) and Bill (Susan); grandchildren, Kevin (Sheryl), Vanessa (Mark), Ryan, Cara (Nik) and Jenna (Alex); four great-grandchildren; and sister Irene (Bill). She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; sons, James, Lorne; and daughter Darlene; parents, John and Catherine.
Zina was born September 11, 1926, in Ukraine. As a young child she came to Canada in 1930 and settled with her family on a farm just outside of Winnipeg. She later moved to Winnipeg to work in the sewing industry. Zina and Joe were married on July 29, 1950. Zina loved the outdoors and gardening. We will always cherish the Sunday dinners which she lovingly prepared and kept the family close. Her perogies and apple pie were second to none.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Residence for their kindness and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, corner of Mountain and Andrews on Wednesday, October 5, at 11:30 a.m. Masks are still mandatory at St. Joseph's. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
God looked around his garden and
found an empty space.
He then looked down upon this earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and
lifted you to rest,
God's Garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but
you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you, the
day God called you home.

Mrs. Goleski was my neighbour long before I became her niece in law. She was the best. I could always stop by, chat or help her with her at home work. She'd always have a homemade snack ready and time to sit and talk. She suffered tragedy and she had joy in her life. MY parents also thought the world of the Goleski family. Although its been years since we last spoke I will never forget her kind heart and the fun times on Redwood. - Posted by: patricia picklyk (niece in law , neighbour) on: Oct 01, 2022
