  • Dear Teresa. I am so terribly sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I’m not sure if you know that Ron passed away In May after our 5 year cancer battle. Although we lost touch throughout the years, Ron spoke very highly of Ken, and I’m sure they are now having a blast together again reminiscing their teenage antics. Be gentle with yourself. Lots of Hugs to you and your family. - Posted by: Christine Preachuk (Friend) on: Oct 05, 2022

  • Ken was my ‘brother’ since 1984. I remember on my wedding day to Jason back in 2005, it was a glorious day and Ken was the only one to make me cry that day. It wasn’t because of sadness but because Ken said to me: “Good job, Vanda”. His was the only affirmation that I needed that day and it was a great feeling. Remember, you can’t pick your family but Ken chose to be part of ours. He became a brother to my husband that day and it meant the world to both of us. Today I have a hole in my heart and overtime it may fill back up again. It’s okay if it doesn’t because there are lives that are so impactful that it’s impossible to match in importance like Ken’s was. I promise as his ‘sister’ that I will look after Sarah & Thomas and will take care of Teresa. It’s what family does. Rest peacefully, brother. Vanda. - Posted by: Vanda Altomare-Postello (Sister-in-law) on: Oct 02, 2022

  • Teresa, Sarah, Thomas and family, our hearts go out to all of you on the quick passing of our dear friend. I first met Ken when his family moved to St. Andrews. At Selkirk Junior High we were Locker neighbors and from then on our friendship grew. Ken Lived briefly at my first home on Hampton St. while he was on the road with CN. He called it the party house as the gang often would meet there before venturing out to a Social and often times crashing there overnight. Later on, We golfed a lot together at Mars and other courses with many friends and Ken was always prepared for whatever came up during the round or over the weekend. He would bring enough supplies to cloth and feed the whole group. In fact, we got caught in a rain shower and had to seek shelter from the deluge so we parked the carts together and Ken then proceeds to pull out a tarp, extra rain gear, umbrella for the group. As he said always prepare. Ken was also our designated BBQ cook when the Lockport gang went on our annual pilgrimage to Phoenix in April. He once started the Cooking early as the rest of us were still enjoying the Happy hour and solving world problems as usual. He then came back Dressed in his Apron and Chef's hat to drag us all back before his food would not meet his standards. Ken, my friend we are all going to miss you and I hope to once again tee it up with you and share a glass of wine. Until then keep a spot open at the Happy hour table for us. • Teresa, Sarah, Thomas and family, our hearts go out to you. We're so sad to hear of Radar's passing. Such a wonderful, kind, family man with a positive attitude and great sense of humour. It's hard to believe how fast he went - proof that only the good die young! RIP good buddy - we'll be thinking of you on the golf course, and missing you always... - Posted by: Jim/Alison Steele (Friends) on: Oct 01, 2022
