AGNES KLINKE
(KOLPAK)
November 8, 1925 - September 18, 2022
Agnes Klinke peacefully passed away at the age of 96 on September 18, 2022, in Pittsford, NY.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Linda (Fred) Kopp, and son, Walter (Connie) Klinke; grandchildren, Kristin (Brigham) Mecham, Erik Kopp, Katherine Klinke and Walter (Maura) Klinke; and great- granddaughter, Willow Klinke; brother-in-law, Jack Campbell; nephew, Robert (Diane) Campbell; and niece, Deborah (Dwight) Cann.
Agnes was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Walter (1998); parents, Annie Semeniuk and John Kolpak; sisters, Nellie Kolpak, Mary Hunchak, Dorothy Campbell; and brother-in-law, Edward Hunchak.
Agnes was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. She went to work for the CPR in the 1940s and met her future husband, Walter, in Prince Rupert, BC, where he was stationed by the US Army in the Second World War. They married on October 6, 1945, in Prince Rupert. Following her marriage, she moved to New York where Walter was from. They initially lived in The Bronx, NY before moving to their newly built home in Yorktown Heights, NY in 1958. Agnes resided in that home for 62 years before moving in November 2020 to Heather Heights Assisted Living Facility in Pittsford, NY to be closer to her daughter.
Agnes and her husband, Walter, enjoyed travelling to see her relatives in Winnipeg and Toronto, as well as travelling though-out the US and Europe. After Walter's passing, she continued her travels with her family and the Yorktown Seniors. She especially enjoyed cruising to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Bermuda, the Caribbean and crossing the Atlantic.
Agnes was very creative. She was a wonderful cook, baker, seamstress and artist. She enjoyed listening to "Big Band" music and Ukrainian and Polish music, dancing, roller skating and walking. She was a caring and generous mother and grandmother who will be missed.
Thanks to the attentive and compassionate staff at Heather Heights and UR Hospice, who helped to make her comfortable in her final days.
