ANN HUNTER MELVILLE
(PRUDEN) DEARLOVE
On October 2, 2022, Ann passed away.
Ann was born at the Hunter Memorial Hospital in Teulon, Manitoba on September 5, 1926. She spent her early years at the family farm in the Petersfield area. After graduating from Normal School, she began teaching at the age of 16. This culminated in a 39 year career in Education. As her career progressed, she obtained her B.A., B. Ed. and Sp. Ed.
Ann is survived by her only son William (Sylvia), grandchildren, Brytany and Brandt (Danielle), and stepson James (Dee).
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Stella Dearlove, husbands, George William Harley Pruden (1965) and William Melville (2000), brothers, Russell Clyde and Gordon Dearlove.
Upon retiring, Ann moved to Sandy Hook, Manitoba where she built her dream home. Her favourite hobby was the breeding and raising of pure bred Pugs and English Bulldogs. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching and various other arts and crafts.
Preparing small or large meals for family and friends was Ann's passion. Her meals are legendary amongst those lucky enough to have enjoyed them.
At Ann's request no formal service will be held. A private family graveside service will occur at a later date.
Donations in memory of Ann may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society to help those who cannot speak for themselves.
