BARBARA CAROL LIM
Barbara Carol Lim, dedicated mom, gramma, and friend - sadly passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Myrtle (2013) and Harry (1987) Gordon, and husband Jon (1996).
She leaves behind her son, Dave (Tara); daughters, Karen and Leslie (Cam); and grandchildren, Courtney, Leah (Jay), Jordan, and Robyn. She is also survived by her siblings, Dennis, Ted, and Sandi. Sadly, she was unable to meet her first great-grandchild, due in only a month's time.
Everyone who knew Carol felt her love and generosity, taking care of not only her family but anyone in need. Her compassionate nature led to a career in nursing, where she met her husband, Dr. Jonathan Lim. After years working in Pediatrics 8A South at St. Boniface Hospital, she moved to the postpartum unit where she often worked a double shift.
She enjoyed spending her summers at the family cottage at Grand Beach, where she loved playing games of crib or rummy. Bingo however, was her favourite, that she often played with her family, especially with her mom Myrtle before her passing.
Aside from spending time with family at home or at the cottage, Carol loved to travel, one of her favourite destinations was Hawaii, but also loved international travel. She never missed a chance to watch her kids or grandkids play their sports or perform at their music recitals. She was an avid reader and had a huge heart for animals.
We would like to thank the medical staff at Health Sciences Centre Emergency and GD 4 who cared for our mom. Also a special thanks to her close friends, Elsie and Jocelyn who were always there with great support.
Carol will be dearly missed. A celebration of her life will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home at 455 Lagimodiere, on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to D'Arcy's ARC, 730 Century Street, Winnipeg, MB R3H 0M1.

My deepest condolences Karen (and Dave & Leslie). I alway remember your Mom with a big smile. She would always make sure we had a great snack whenever I came over, and made me feel very welcome in your home. Unfortunately I didn’t know of your Mom’s passing until after her service, so I was unable to attend. If you would like to reconnect, please give me a call at 204-612-3588. Take care, Signy - Posted by: Signy (Snidal) Shaw (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2022

My deepest condolences to Carol’s Family and Friends. I met Carol in late 90’s while working at SBH, Mother and Child Unit, She was such a caring and hard working nurse. The love, care and generosity she had for her family and people around her was endless. I enjoyed sharing so many suppers, get togethers, shopping, and including two trips, with great memories. She will be greatly missed Rest In Peace - Posted by: Nazareth Teklemariam (Co-worker) on: Oct 15, 2022

My deepest sympathy to David, Karen & my Dearest friend Leslie and all of your family members. Mrs. Lim was always so kind to me growing up with Leslie. I will never forget her generous heart. Always letting me tag along to Grand Beach every summer of my youth and countless sleepovers and spoiling us along with your dad, Mr. Lim treating us to dinners out. Baking fresh cookies after school was the best! You will be greatly missed Dear Mrs. Lim. XOX - Posted by: Yvette (Friend to Leslie her daughter) on: Oct 14, 2022

I was shocked & saddened to read of Carol's passing in the Sat. Free Press. We had many chuckles about our Greyhound bus trip to Vancouver & Powell River back in 1956. Carol was always fun to be with and great memories will remain with me. My sincere sympathy to all her family. - Posted by: Jean Donaldson, Langley, BC (Friend) on: Oct 11, 2022
