CLARA CATHERINE MAXWELL

In loving memory and with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mother Clara, who peacefully on September 28, 2022 at Donwood Manor PCH in Winnipeg, went home at the age of 92.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill, and her parents, Robert and Mary Lees. Her husband's sister and dear friend Jean Oliver (Lenny). Bill's parents Grace and Wallace Maxwell. Her brother's wife Carolyn Lees. Many dear friends over the years, but most notably the gang of six, who are now all together again.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons and 'daughters', Bruce and Wanda, Blaine and Heather, Brian and Brenda, Glenn and Darlene. Her cherished grandchildren, Kellen (Jenna), Candace (Delvin), Dale (Taylor), Jensen (Walker), Coby, and Nealon, and her great-grandchildren Brynlee, Mya and Hayes expected soon! She will be deeply missed by her only brother Tom Lees. Her nieces and nephews, Wendy Oliver, Larry Oliver (Darlene), Nancy MacDonald (Grant), and Michael Lees (Nicki) will also lovingly remember Auntie Clara.
Clara embodied the spirit of love, as a woman, a daughter, a friend, a wife, a mother, an auntie, a grandmother and great-grandmother!
A celebration of Clara's life will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The family would like to thank all those who comforted us during these times, with a special thanks to all the thoughtful and supportive staff at Donwood Manor for their compassionate care of Miss Clara.
Should you wish to make a donation in her memory, please know that she loved to gather family and make memories, she always supported Siloam Mission because she felt no one should be alone, especially at the holidays!
To honour her Scottish heritage and in the spirit of Auld Lang Syne, we bid fare thee well with times fondly remembered!

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I just learned of Clara's passing, and I'm so saddened that I have lost a touch with her for the past few years. Clara and Bill were the greatest neighbor one could have. RIP - Posted by: Vesna Istvanic (Neighbour) on: Apr 07, 2023

  • Whenever I went to the Maxwell home to visit Brian, I always felt welcome. Brian's parents always made me feel at home. Brian's mom had an air of caring about her that I will never forget. RIP, Mrs. Maxwell. - Posted by: Jim Jones (friend of son, Brian) on: Oct 08, 2022

  • Sorry for your loss - Posted by: Larry Hildebrand (Co worker of Brian) on: Oct 08, 2022
