DONALD EDWARD DAHL

It is with great sorrow, after a long battle with lung disease, that we announce the passing of our brother, on August 17, 2022.
Donny, as he was known to many of his friends and family, was the youngest of our family, and passed away at the age of 67. He was predeceased by his parents Lois and Thomas Dahl, as well as his older sister, Linda, and his older brother Gary. He has left to mourn his passing, his remaining brothers, and sisters. Brother Richard and his wife, Kathy of Kamloops, sister Heather and her husband, David of Kelowna, sister Shirley and her husband, Ron of Surrey, and brother Gordon and his wife, Fiona of West Kelowna, as well as his wife of 37 years, Barb Dahl, nee Monafterski. Donny will be sorrily missed by all of us.
It was difficult to watch Donny as he succumbed to this disease as it slowly took his breath away. Donny was a simple human being leading a meager life in the north end of Winnipeg, and not wanting for anything. He could be difficult at times and rough around the edges, however his heart was always in the right place, and he would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you warranted it. He lived life his way and walked to the beat of his own drum. He was quite a character and will be missed.
It is said that we are here on this earth to either learn a lesson or teach a lesson. Once this has been accomplished, we are free to advance to whatever may be waiting for us on the other side. I'm not sure what lesson he was teaching us, or he was learning, but as time goes by and we have Donny in our thoughts, I think the lesson will become abundantly clear for all of us.
I am sure Donny will meet up with the rest of his family, who are waiting on the other side for him, and welcoming him with open arms.
As per Donny's wishes, no service was held.

REST IN PEACE, BROTHER
