NORMAN BAHRY
May 22, 1936 – October 7, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Bahry on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 86.
Norm was predeceased by his parents Agnes and Harry and his sister Dorothy. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Irene Solylo, his brother Leonard Bahry (Christina), nephew Jeff Solylo (Lois), niece Donna Wyryha, nephew Evan Bahry (Cynthia), niece Alexis MacKenzie (Angus), their families and numerous friends.
Norm grew up in the North End of Winnipeg. During his school years, he enjoyed going with family and friends to the Hi Spot for a soda, the Tower Theatre to see a movie, Metro Motors to check out the latest sports cars and CUAC to watch a baseball game. After graduating from Isaac Newton High School in 1954, he started working at the Canadian National Railway head office on Main Street and later moved to the Symington Yard office as Transportation Supervisor, until his retirement at age 55.
After retiring, Norm enjoyed a wide range of activities: renovating his home, gardening in the backyard and sharing his tomatoes with family, watching football (especially the Vikings), golfing at Kildonan, fishing trips with St. Jo's Manitoba Wildlife Federation, jogging, tennis, league bowling at Northgate Lanes and singing in a barbershop quartet. He loved going on long road trips to visit family and friends, while listening to songs by his favourite country stars. He also loved movies and spent many hours recording them for family members.
Norm was a very generous person with a big heart and a good sense of humour. He was always ready to lend a hand or give a ride when needed. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
According to Norm's wishes, cremation and a private service has already taken place at Glen Eden. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Norm's memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
