FRANCES IRENE POPOVICH
On Monday, October 10, 2022, Frances Irene Popovich passed away peacefully with family by her side.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Wendy and grandchildren Jessica and Jason; son David and grandchildren Michael and Stacey (Jimmy) Fink and great-grandchildren Tayler and Jax; daughter Carol (Craig) Parsley, and grandchildren Meagan (Andy) Martin and Caitlin; daughter Cheryl (Glen) Young, and grandchildren Keenan (Tarin) and Blake. Frances is also lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Ann Nimchuk and many nieces and nephews.
Frances was predeceased by her husband George, mother Martha, brother Henry and sisters Myrtle, Margaret, and Florence.
Mom was very proud of all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always took the time to ask how you were doing. She loved to see her family together, whether it was at her home or elsewhere.
Frances loved her home and her garden. She was able to live independently in her own home until her 91st year. She took immaculate care of it, and she enjoyed being outside gardening and tending her flowers.
Frances was always generous with her time. She was involved with the Grey Street United Church Women's Group and was president of the U.C.W. for several years. The fruits of her labor were enjoyed by many. These included baked goods, produce from her garden, and knitted dishcloths, to name a few. The grandchildren always said she had "the hands of an angel."
Mom/Grandma was strong, independent, hardworking, loving and compassionate. She was an incredible role model and mentor. Her legacy lives on in her family.
We would like to thank the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their kindness and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cropo Funeral Chapel Transcona, 1800 Day Street. Interment will follow at the Transcona Cemetery, 5014 Dugald Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
