ALLAN JAMES KLIEVER
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother on October 12, 2022.
Dad was born October 8, 1935 to George and Eva Kliewer. He grew up on the family farm in Niverville along with his siblings, Goldie, Peter, John, Evelyn and George.
Dad was a hard worker from early in his life. He left school to work on the family farm. He worked various jobs until he found his passion driving. He drove long distance for Reimer Express Lines, Imperial Roadways and T.C.T. He also ran the trucking operation for many years at Imperial Roadways.
While working at Monarch Life in the 1950s, Dad met the love of his life, Leona. Dad and Mom were married on August 20, 1960. They welcomed their first child Jackie in 1962, Susan in 1963 and Monica in 1970. The family moved from Goulet Street in St. Boniface to our first home on Bluewater Crescent in Southdale. Dad and Mom enjoyed 35 years in Southdale. It was here that Dad was known for his extravagant Christmas lights display. His passion Mom's nightmare! They moved to Villas on the Seine in 2006. Dad and Mom enjoyed the deer and all the wildlife in the area, particularly when they visited them in their yard. In 2019, they moved to Dakota House.
Dad will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Jackie (Jack), Susan (Todd), Monica (Paul); grandchildren, Jessica (Curtis), Meagan (Robin), Braden (Darci), Madeleine (Brayden), Sarah (Alex), Emily, Grace, Cameron, Zack; great-granddaughter Harper; brother John (Linda); sisters, Goldie (Neil), Evelyn, Susan (Henry); along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Leona (April 15, 2022); his parents; brothers, Peter and George; brothers-in-law, Henry Rempel, Jean-Charles Gagnon, Jake Wiebe; sisters-in-law, Hélène Gagnon and Florence Wiebe.
Dad always put his family first. Family meant everything to him.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Movement Centre of Manitoba.

Our sincere condolences on the the loss of your Dad. We were very fortunate to live beside Al and Leona for 19 years. During that time we witnessed a gentleman who loved his wife and his 3 girls with all his heart. As the family grew with partners and grandchildren Al and Leona’s hearts were filled with love and great pride. Al and Leona were wonderful neighbours and we cherish the many memories that were made through visits, joint projects and we can’t forget the most wonderful Christmas light displays. Al and Leona were excellent role models on how to live in a marriage with great faith, immense love, respect, humour and compassion. It was a gift to know both of them and to call them friends. - Posted by: Gary and Donna Martin (Neighbours and friends) on: Oct 17, 2022
