RUTH ANGELA MEISNER
(KIESMAN)

December 7, 1937 – October 14, 2022

In the arms of her family, Ruth left this world at the Brandon Regional Health Centre at age 84.
Left to cherish Ruth's life are son Bruce (Henry Price); daughter Brenda (Terry Smith); grandsons, Matthew Smith (Carly) and Austin Smith (Keyona); also Dorrie Kiesman (Elsie) and their entire family who shared a very special bond with their aunt and provided her with constant, loving support.
Also mourning her passing are sister Edna (Erwin Wentland); brother Paul Henry; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kiesman and Pauline Meisner; aunt Irene Weidner; godchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Ruth was born in her parent's home at the Mud Lake, near Moosehorn, Manitoba. During school years, she enjoyed 4-H and music classes.
She met the love of her life, Albert, while working at her parent's Snack Bar Café. They were wed on June 4, 1960 and soon after, began operating their ROCO service station. After many years in business, Ruth and Albert retired and enjoyed travelling, being members of the Moosehorn Seniors Club and playing cards with numerous friends. Ruth enjoyed sewing, cake decorating and collecting salt and pepper shakers. We are confident the stock prices of Word Search puzzles has already dropped, since Ruth's passing.
Her favourite pastime was being with her family, especially her grandsons. They provided their Nanny with wholehearted love and were a source of immense pride.
After being the organist at Peace Lutheran Church for over 65 years, Ruth retired last month. Music was Ruth's passion and all aspects of her life were encompassed with music. At Peace Lutheran, she considered it a great honour to provide music for countless Sunday services, baptisms, confirmations, weddings and funerals. In addition, Ruth often travelled from Fairford to Eriksdale with John and Glen of Arnason Funeral Home, to supply music for numerous sorrowing families. She attended many musical concerts and often sang at talent shows with her sister-in-law Evelyn.
Ruth had a steadfast faith in her Lord and was ready to leave this earth. We take comfort knowing she is in the embrace of her husband Albert; parents, Angela and Fred; brother Edward; sister-in-law Isabelle and all of Albert's siblings.
Ruth's funeral will be a celebration of music and song to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in the Peace Lutheran Church, Moosehorn, Manitoba. Masks are required to attend this service.
The yearly Harbour Lights Widow's banquet was greatly supported and appreciated by Ruth. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Harbour Light Ministries, Box 167, Arborg, MB R0C 0A0 (204-494-0495) or Peace Lutheran Memorial Fund or Organ Fund, PO Box 68, Moosehorn, MB R0C 2E0.
Our family acknowledges the compassionate, dedicated home care team that assisted our Mom, the SSGL Director Allison Staff and wonderful neighbours, Ruth and Gordon Goldsmith.

"Life is like a keyboard.
Good days may be the white keys.
Bad days may be the black keys,
but you need both colours of keys
to make music."

  • Bruce and family…I am sad to learn of Ruth’s death. I remember her with fondness from my time of interim ministry at Peace in Moosehorn. We sat reading the scriptures for the Sunday services and picking hymns. It was always a delight when you were home and played hymns with your mom for Sunday worship. May you find peace and comfort in God’s promise so eternal life and rest for Ruth and for us all at last. Pastor Kolleen - Posted by: Pastor Kolleen Karlowsky-Clark (Former pastor) on: Oct 22, 2022
