LIZANNE MARIE MAILHOT
August 14, 1961 - October 6, 2022
We are heartbroken to announce Lizanne's peaceful passing at home in Lions Bay, BC on the evening of October 6, 2022 with her husband, Brian and family members by her side.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Brian Ulrich; her siblings, Dolores, Lionel (Darlene), Philippe (Valerie), Nicole (Jean) and Ronald (Elizabeth); her brother-in-law Alan and her nieces and nephews, Alaina (Dean - Eryn, Austin, Craig), Dionne (Saul and Garret), Bryan (India Kingston, Sabbath), Renée (Brad), Janelle (Matthew Roland, Felix), Kyle, Paul (Lindsay Sebastian), Danielle (Steven Theo), Alyse, Patrick and Rhéal. She will also be lovingly remembered by Brian's family, Judy (Bill), Sharon and Kirby (Stacey) and her nieces and nephews, Amanda (Paul), Ryan (Laurie Sawyer), Jocelyn (Tyson Kinsley, Layklyn, Daxon), Alysa (Ryan), Elias, Jacob and Matthew. Lizanne was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Félixine Mailhot (neé Ouimet).
Lizanne was born on August 14, 1961 in Winnipeg, MB. She grew up along the banks of the Red River and attended school in St. Norbert, where she first met many life-long friends. After graduating from high school, Lizanne enrolled at RRCC and completed her Business Administration Diploma. She eventually achieved her CGA designation and then received her Bachelor of Accounting Sciences at the University of Calgary. She started her career at Bristol Aerospace, where she met and fell in love with Brian. Her extensive resumé included subsequent jobs at Honeywell Aerospace, Regional Municipality of Ottawa/Carlton, Canadian Forest Products Ltd. (Canfor) and Washington Marine Group (Seaspan). At Pacific Blue Cross, she rose through the ranks from Controller to Acting Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and at the time of her death, was serving as Chief Compliance and Risk Officer.
Lizanne loved spending time with family and friends. She was the ultimate hostess. Her organizational and preparation skills were second to none. Growing up, and through her life, she was always willing to try new sports activities of which curling, golfing, soccer and camping were her favourites. Being a more avid sports fan than most guys, she could be found in front of the TV watching hockey, football, curling, tennis and golf. She travelled extensively around the world, but being at home in her garden brought her the most peace and joy. When she was with family, she loved working on puzzles and playing board games, but was always the first one to lend a helping hand wherever help was needed without being told.
Lizanne was very active with the Salvation Army. She was chair of the Hope in the City Breakfast organizing committee for many years. She was also very supportive of numerous other charities. Following her cancer diagnosis, she made it her goal to raise money for ovarian cancer research. She was always thinking of others and even in her final days, was apologetic to her caregivers as they attended to her needs.
The family would like to sincerely thank the VGH Oncology Department doctors and nurses and the Vancouver Coastal Health Palliative Care team, their doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and occupational therapist for the excellent and compassionate care that they provided to Lizanne.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 28 at the St. Norbert Community Centre, 3450 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, MB from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Program will start at 2:30 p.m. People are invited to share their favourite memories of Lizanne and celebrate the incredible woman that she was. A private family service will be held at her final resting place.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the North Shore Hospice and Palliative Project through Lions Gate Hospital Foundation at https://lghfoundation.com/tributes/lizanne-marie-mailhot/

I am sorry, but I am now seeing this. I was Lizanne's supervisor at Bristol Aerospace during the '80's. As a matter of fact she was hired by me into the cost & management division of accounting. Lizanne was a very pleasant and kind person, intelligent, and quick learner. As we lived fairly close at one period when my car was damaged, she drove me to and from work. I just had the urge to 'google' search her name as she came into my thoughts, and read the dad news. My prayers are with her and all her family, and wishes of a peaceful rest with the Lord Jesus. I also thank the Lord for the privilege of letting me spend a part of my journey around her. Thank you. - Posted by: Phil James (Co-worker) on: Aug 23, 2025

Nous sommes très reconnaissant d'avoir eu la chance de visiter avec elle à la rencontre des Ouimet's en 2019. Marcel et Olive - Posted by: Marcel et Olive Doucet (Cousin) on: Oct 22, 2022
