On the morning of October 18, 2022, David left us to reunite with his beloved Betty, who predeceased him in 2020.
David was born March 7, 1937 in Oxford and resided in Witney, England.
He immigrated to Canada in 1957 at the age of 20 and resided with his aunt Dorothy in River Heights until he established enough to get out on his own. She was his favourite aunt and they remained close until her passing. He spoke fondly of her often.
Eventually David met the love of his life Betty, who helped in convincing him there was no better place to be than Winnipeg. Together they celebrated 48 years and had enormous fun and adventures big and small. He missed her so!
David retired from Land Titles in 1999.
Predeceased by his parents, Rowland and Mabel of Witney, England and his much loved sister Ann whom he dearly missed, also of Witney, England.
David leaves to mourn his passing; his stepson Clive Williams (Pauline) of Winnipeg; brother-in-law Keith Jones of Witney, England; sisters-in-law, Gwen and Lynn of Northern Wales; his much loved niece Helen Pomroy (Martin) and great-niece Soffie all of Yarnton, England; his much loved nephew Richard Jones (Dita) with great-nieces, Ema, Maja, Leila and great-nephew Luka all of Northern Ireland. He thought the world of you all.
As per David's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place.
Thank you to Victoria for being the best home care nurse ever! David spoke so highly of you. Thank you to the Palliative staff at St. Boniface Hospital.

Rest in peace David, you will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Family and friends are invited to
visit David's memorial page, where memories and condolences may be shared.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I have known Dave since our Witney Grammar School days. We both emigrated to Canada as young men and kept in touch over the years. He was my best man at our wedding in 1962. He was an avid follower of our Grandson's PGA career and encouraged others to do likewise. Rest in peace Dave . We will really miss you on our frequent trips west.
