WOYCHUK: It is with sadness that we let you know, on October 25th, 2022, at 10:08 PM, Theodore (Ted) Woychuk found his way to a place where Parkinson disease can no longer cause him pain. On October 22, 1945, Ted's Father, John Woychuk, and Mother Anne Woychuk (Leschyschyn) became proud new parents to their youngest child Theodore. Ted had an older sister, Margaret (Marg) Spakowski , (Susan, Michelle, David, Michael) who up to his last days, was a very important part of his life. Marg was a very loyal sister, who never stopped looking after her younger brother, especially during the times when Ted was struggling the most. Margaret passed away on October 26th, 2022, the very day after her youngest brother Ted. As Marg always had a place in her life for Ted, Ted also had a special place in his heart for her. The bond between the two was truly a special thing. Ted also had an older brother Edward (Ed) Woychuk, who was the middle of the three Woychuk Children. The strong bond between Ted and Ed was a lifelong endeavor. Ted always made time for, and enjoyed weekend trips to Arborg to visit Ed. Ed sadly, but peacefully passed on April 3rd, 2013, in the family home in Arborg. When Ted was 14 years old, and making the mile long, gravel road walk home from school, he was picked up by a family friend who gave him the tragic news that his Father was killed by a Bull at the family farm. This was a major turning point in the Woychuk home, as Ed, who had a bus ticket in hand, and was scheduled to depart in two days to start his adult life with the Canadian Military, changed his plans to stay at the Arborg farm to help look after his family. Ed remained at the family house with his Mother until his untimely passing. In 1967, a young Ted completed his training with the RCMP and spent the next five years serving as a Police Constable in Banff, Ab., and then Calgary AB. After a few requests, to marry his soon to be wife Mary Woychuk (Hogan) and being denied permission, as it was required back in that time, he left the force to pursue a new life in sales closer to home in Manitoba. The wedding went on as planned, and Ted`s future was set with three children, Jacqueline Martin (Craig, Ben, Luke, William, Noah), John Woychuk (Leila, Holt, April), and Jason Woychuk (Karla, Rayna, Lana). Ted, Mary and Family would eventfully call Brandon, MB. Home. Throughout his entire life, Ted was a guitar player, and master drummer, and had a deep passion for music. As one of Ted`s kids riding in the wood panel station wagon, heading to the cabin, the selection of 8-Tracks, and eventually cassettes was something to see. The favorites of Ted included Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Polka, and country. The stories he told of how music became part of his life, based on his Fathers love for music was something that would never get old.40ish years later, Ted and his High School band `TELSTARS` re-united, at a request to preform for a High School Reunion in Arborg. The band spent the next several years playing gigs around Winnipeg, with the Legion Branch 215 being a favorite. The band moved forward and produced their first and only album, which was a very proud time for Ted. The incredible happiness he had while playing with the band, and producing this album, was something that was impossible not to see. The life of Ted was driven by family. A man that will always be remembered as hard working, strong, dedicated, determined, a voice of reason, fun, professional, giving, coach, teacher, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, friend, grandfather, and rockstar to those that truly knew him.Ted, you will be greatly missed, and always remembered for everything you have accomplished in your life, and by all that had the fortunate luck to be part of it. Special thank you to all the Medical professionals, and the Donwood Manor Personal care staff who helped Ted along the way. A private gathering will be held. A celebration of life will be planned for the summer of 2023. Family and friends may sign a book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
