YOLANTA CWIK
On September 23, 2022, Yolanta (Yola) Anna Cwik departed this life. Born in Winnipeg on February 2, 1964, her life ended too soon while living in Poland.
Yola was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Cwik and Stella (Stanislawa) Witczak.
Her sister Margaret Meroni (née Cwik) along with many aunts, uncles and cousins mourn her passing as well as her childhood best friend Loretta Smith (née Parisien).
Yola was nomadic and loved to travel. She took a gap year in university to live and work in England. Her love of travel continued after university; she went on to teach ESL in Thailand, visit Nepal, Scotland, Africa, the Caribbean and several cities in Canada. Her love for travel was only rivalled by her love for her pets.
She lived in Toronto for many years and ultimately moved to Poland in 2015. She also took a keen interest in genealogy and spent years tracking family history.
Cremation has already taken place and no service will be held.
Donations can be made to a charity of choice.

I knew Yolanta for only a short time but she was instrumental in guiding a young Margaret and her friend Donna, two aspiring punk wannabes. She bundled us up and took us to see Billy Idol at the LaVerendre. Changed my life. She was fun and kind and graciously didn’t laugh at me when I showed up at the concert wrapped in chains from dad’s garage. We should all have sisters like her. - Posted by: Donna Rutkowski (Lobchuk) (Admirer) on: Nov 09, 2022

Sad that you are gone. Gone, but not forgotten. Your pain is gone, as you reunite with your father, uncle Joe. Watching babcia in the garden with dziadziu close by. We will cherish our visit with you in Warszawa, reflecting on the memories as we explored different parts of the city. Love & hugs to you. - Posted by: Henry, Bernadette, Samantha & Jessica (Cousin) on: Oct 29, 2022

So saddened. Yola was one of the rarest, loveliest people. She had amazing wit and knowledge. We will miss you forever. - Posted by: Rose and Jack (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2022
