OLGA TWARDOWSKI

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olga Twardowski (nee Rudyk) of Winnipeg Beach, MB. She left this world peacefully at the Gimli Community Health Centre on October 22, 2022.
Her humble beginning began on a farm in the area of Chatfield, MB, where she was born on August 5, 1923. She was raised by her parents Mary and Bill Rudyk and later stepfather Tony Signatovich. Later as she grew up, Olga met and married Joseph Twardowski and they lived on a farm near Matlock, MB and raised their family. They were married for 58 years with her husband's passing in 2005. She later moved to Winnipeg Beach where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She leaves behind her two sons, Lynn and Bernie; three grandchildren, Jennifer (John), Whitney (Mike), Owyn (Celeste) and five great-grandchildren, Joey, Peyton, Rylee, Blayke and Autumn.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Anne, Bill, John, Nick and Toni.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. Interment will take place in the St. Williams Cemetery.
Special thanks to the nursing staff for the care and compassion they gave to our mother.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated.

  • My deepest condolences to you Bernie, your family and brother Lynn & his. There are things we don't want to happen. But have to accept. Things we don't know but have to learn and people we can't live without but have to let go. Your Mother was one of the sweetest souls in Isfeld Manor, Olga became a good friend of my Mother Pat and they so enjoyed one another’s company at congregate meals, cards and all the entertainment programs in the dining room. Olga would look out for my Mother as her memory and mobility deteriorated, little things, like reminding Mother to take her sweater off the back of her chair, or to pick up her container of lunch or dinner leftovers she couldn’t finish, as she was leaving the dining room, and even helping Mom up when she’d slip off her chair. Mother cherished Olga’s friendship and thought the world of her. I am now so very happy to have had a very brief conversation with you & Olga in September in the doorway at Shenanigans Cafe in September. I have her beautiful smile to remember. Iam so very fortunate to have known her. May God rest her soul. - Posted by: Laurence Russin (Friend of family) on: Oct 29, 2022
