HELEN FERRIER
On Friday, October 21, 2022, Helen Ferrier (nee Macykiw) passed away with her family by her side at The Residence at Morgan Heights at the age of 85 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Heather (Garth) of Surrey, BC and Carol (Peter) of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren, Katherine, Jessica and Marissa.
She is predeceased by her husband Jack; son Wayne; parents, Michael and Anne; brothers, Nicholas, Bill and John; sisters, Josephine and Sophie.
Helen left her home in Sifton, MB, to attend Misericordia General Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1958. In 1961, Helen married a young officer, Jack Ferrier. Helen was a dedicated and devoted wife and mother. Helen, Jack and their three children toured Manitoba, as Jack was transferred around the province. They settled in Lorette, MB, where Jack, the love of her life, tragically passed much too soon.
In the 1990s, Helen returned to school again for a nursing refresher, having not worked as a nurse for decades. Helen went on to work at St. Norbert Personal Care Home until retiring. Helen left Manitoba to spend her retirement years in British Columbia, closer to her daughter Heather and away from Manitoba winters.
Helen always lived her life for those she loved with unwavering support. She fed generously whoever crossed her threshold. She was such a lovely, caring and kind person. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Anne's Road.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society.

My deep and sincere condolences to Helen's family and friends. Helen was a schoolmate of mine in Sifton and I remember her as a top notch student, with a great sense of humor. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay in contact with her, since those days, but I have never forgotten her. I was able to touch base this summer, with a family member, and provide her with a school photo through Facebook. I hope Helen was able to appreciate that and bring back some good memories of the good old school days in Sifton. - Posted by: Orville Heschuk (School Mate) on: Nov 02, 2022
