  • Dear Daphne and family, I am so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Don, I have so many fond memories of Don at hockey games/tournaments. I always teased him to make sure he didn’t leave the rink without all the kids he was supposed to take home. Don always had that grin. You will be missed Don, RIP Condolences to Daphne and family, Denise Burjan - Posted by: Denise Broomfield(Burjan) (Friend) on: Nov 15, 2022

  • Daphne and family My condolences I hope sincerely that you can celebrate a life well lived and Don's many contributions to enhance the lives of others. My last memory of Don was him shopping for a new wheelbarrow so that he could come home and beg forgiveness for running over yours Brian - Posted by: Brian McLeish (Friend) on: Nov 07, 2022

  • Our sincerest condolences to Daphne, Laurel, David, Leslie, and Patricia and families, and to everyone who loved and was loved by Don - a great many people. I think Don and my father Ralph are up there in the great coffee shop in the sky having a grand ol' time, reunited at last, boasting about their best-ever crop yields over limitless coffee, tea, pie with ice cream, and probably some epic naps mixed in for good measure. Don was like an uncle to me, and I appreciate how he loved my father like a brother. Gone too soon, sending our love to you all. - Posted by: Brent Johnson (Family) on: Nov 05, 2022

His sense of humour combined with his unique teaching style made going to class something to look forward to. He’ll be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. • Daphne, we are so sorry to learn of Don's sudden passing. Our sympathies to you and to Laurel, David, Leslie, Patricia, and your families. Before our move to Manitoba & Winnipeg in the 80's, Don provided much appreciated insights into societal nuances life here would bring. We also were intrigued with his decision to learn to play the bagpipe. Don will be missed by many. - Posted by: Karen & Bill Atherton (friends) on: Oct 30, 2022

  • Oh, how can Don be gone? He was like a brother to his cousin Ralph and like an uncle to my children. He genuinely welcomed Rob into the family with an open heart. He is deeply mourned and missed. We send our deepest condolences to Daphne and all of his children and grandchildren and to his brother Ken and family. Don and Ralph will be able to talk farming together now and tell corny jokes in heaven. I even like to think of them flying together. And Aunt Doris will be with her son Don. - Posted by: Bonnie and Rob (Johnson) McKinley (cousin) on: Oct 29, 2022

  • My deepest sympathies to Daphne and family. Don always made me feel welcome at church and at their home. He was a true friend! May the family take comfort in knowing Don is enjoying life in Heaven! - Posted by: Diane MacDonald (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2022
