DAVID STEWART SR.
It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved David Stewart Sr. on October 24, 2022 at Seven Oaks General Hospital.
David is predeceased by his wife Margaret and his only son David Jr. Left to mourn his passing are his 3 daughters, Linda (Darrin), Colleen, and Bonnie (Allan) along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David was born August 10, 1938 in St. John New Brunswick. He later enlisted in the forces serving in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps from 1955 to 1967 and was deployed as part of NATO missions to both Germany and Egypt.
While stationed in Winnipeg he met the love of his life Margaret and were happily married on May 20, 1961. They worked hard to raise their four children, and loved to see their family grow as grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born.
David enjoyed all sports, but loved softball. He coached for a number of years, and was proud to see his daughter and granddaughter take up the sport. He was later inducted to the Manitoba Softball Hall of fame in 2011.
David will be remembered for his witty and at times cheeky sense of humour, a great taste in music, his strong faith, and a deep love for his family. He will be sorely missed.
At David's request there will be no funeral, the family will instead hold a private Celebration of Life.
