FAYE PARKS MICAY


Faye passed away peacefully, age 97, July 7, 2022, in Winnipeg.
She is survived by her sons, Jack, Harold and Ira, and grandchildren, Morgan, Kelsey, Nathan, Katie, Rachel and Jonathan. Also, great-grandchildren, Levi and Landon and at the time waiting to make his debut, Stellan. She was predeceased by her brother Syd Parks.
Faye grew up in Transcona and married Nathan Micay in 1948. She helped him build his successful business in Winnipeg, Athletes Wear Sporting Goods.
Faye was known for her strong views and opinions and her community involvement and generosity. She donated the family home to be a facility for Shalom Residences. And was a strong supporter of the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba and a benefactor to the YM/YWCA and many other organizations.
She greatly valued her Jewish identity and the State of Israel, living for a period in Jerusalem.
Her family is grateful for the care she had from the staff of the Simkin Centre in her final years and some personal caregivers, Merle, Devyn and Kelly.

  • Thanks be to Hashem, I bumped into Avis in a Calgary grocery store and Faye's name came up. Otherwise I would not have known of her passing. When she would come to Calgary she would reach out to our late great uncle "Dr. Dave" and would be certain to reach out and visit our Mom Clarice Locke nee: Lander She had a great drive to better humanity and she certainly did.   • Faye was always happy & cheerful coming in to our clinic. A very caring person who loved a good chuckle. We still have the little placque she gave us hanging at our entrance was.
