GERALD DENNIS PROCILLO

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father Gerald Dennis Procillo. On October 27, 2022, after a long battle with kidney failure, he is reunited with our mother Shirley May Procillo (Chiborak) who recently passed away after a battle with lung disease on August 3, 2022.
They leave to mourn their children, Terri (Jamie), Kevin (Cheryl) and Robin, their grandchildren, Braydee, Sierra, Skylar, Carmanah, Mitchell and Scarlet.
Gerry and Shirley were married for 55 years and both grew up in the east side of Winnipeg and stayed there for the first 45 years of their marriage and then moved to Nanaimo, BC for the last 10 years.
Gerry had multiple jobs throughout his life, most of it being store manager at the local Consumers Distributing store then went to work as a customer service rep for Texaco then Imperial Oil.
Celebration of Life will be held on November 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #9, 920 Nairn Ave.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Sending my condolences to the children & family of Gerry & Shirley, I am so sorry for your loss! I worked at Consumers Distributing on Regent with your Dad, for 5 years, senior clerk for about 3 years. Your Dad hired me at 16 years old. He was a very fair boss with a really good side of humour. We always had jokes & pranks going on in the warehouse and your Dad would always include himself in them also until we were overstepping the line!! We would initiate new employees by having them call out a customers name that were naughty, the more they’d call out the name, they'd realize what they were saying and turn every shade of red and turn & hide in the warehouse. You’re dad was always a jokester along with us but a very good boss. I learned a lot from him & he gave me a lot of responsibility in running the store. Your Mom was always stopping in at the store, always a good visit from Shirley! I am so sorry for your loss of both of your parents so close together!!💜 - Posted by: Sharon McLaughlin (Friend) on: Nov 10, 2022

  • Our heartfelt condolences for your saying farewell to both your Mom & Dad so close together. We are very grateful for the afternoon visit with them in Nanaimo last year at Terri’s place…so good to catch up! It seems fitting for them to be together once again now in peace on the other side of heaven. Our love & prayers, Dave, Myrna, Jack, Lorraine families. - Posted by: Dave & Myrna Kisil (Cousins) on: Nov 05, 2022
