BONNIE JANE PATERSON

Bonnie passed away among family after a lengthy battle with cancer on October 25, 2022.
She was born December 17, 1944 to William (Bob) and Emma Burns in St. Boniface, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Heather.
Bonnie married young and raised four sons while living throughout Manitoba, where they enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing and hunting.
In the late 1970s she divorced, moving into Winnipeg to start a new phase of her life with the boys. It was during these years she started a 17-year career working with the Royal Bank, and once retired often spoke of missing the regular customers she came to know while working in the downtown Portage branch over the years.
In 1982, she met Robert (Sandy) Paterson who was the head golf professional at the Breezy Bend Country Club in Headingley, Manitoba. They went on to marry in 1988 and remained together until her passing. They enjoyed a life together which saw them travelling extensively throughout North America in their RV, with summers often spent in Gimli.
Bonnie leaves a legacy of great memories spent with her boys, Sandy and her parents, Bob and Emma, which included camping, fishing, summers at the lake and large family gathering whenever a holiday took place. It was rare that the family didn't gather for Christmas holidays throughout the years, generating memories that will continue to be recalled for years to come.
Bonnie leaves behind a loving family which includes her husband Sandy and her boys, Ward and Mellisa Lymburner and children, Cory and Delaney, Wade and Karen Lymburner and children, Ryan (wife Melissa) and Austin (wife Hailey), Jason and Rachal Lymburner and children, Cody Meers (fiancée Brenliegh) and Morgan and Troy Lymburner; as well as many dear friends across the country, the USA and in particular, those lifelong friends from Breezy Bend.
Cremation has taken place and in deference to Bonnie's wishes, no service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the CancerCare Manitoba would be gratefully accepted.
Bonnie's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the many friends who have helped during her recent months as her battle neared its end. Special thanks go out to the Manitoba Cancer Centre, Dr. Aljafari and nurse Marni Cormier of the Manitoba Palliative Care Program, Manitoba EHS and the emergency and admission staff at the Grace Hospital who supported Bonnie and her family in her last hours.
