TEMA HANDSMAN
(nee KAPEL)
Passed peacefully on November 2, 2022, in Winnipeg (Canada) where she lived at the Simkin Centre for the last six years. Tema was born in Tyszowce (Poland), November 12, 1925.
She was a devoted wife to the late Abram Handsman. Tema and Abram (Holocaust survivors) were married in a DP camp in Austria and immigrated to Montreal in 1949. In 1996, a year after Abram passed, Tema moved to Winnipeg to be with her two daughters and their families.
Tema is survived by her daughters, Rachela (Norman) Secter and Ida Lang; her grandchildren, Mical (Jamie), Jaclyn (Roman), Marc, Miriam (Jesse), Michael (Nicole), Steven (Michelle); and her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin, Amelia, Emersyn, and Jake.
Tema's funeral was held in Montreal, November 6.
Donations can be made in Tema's name to "The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre" where she was cared for with loving kindness. Private Shiva.
