After a courageous battle with cancer, Barb passed away with her family at her side.
She will be lovingly remembered by her great humour, strong personality, loving nature and affection for others. She made many friends throughout the years.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Tony; sons, Mike (Robyn) and Mark (Jill). Barb cherished and adored her two grandchildren, Owen and Andi. Her many siblings and relatives will miss her immensely.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Norberry Community Club in the main hall, 26 Molgat Avenue, Winnipeg.
The family would like to thank the Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Palliative Care unit for the outstanding care.
In lieu of flowers, Barb requested, for those that can, to please donate blood or make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.

  • To Tony, Mike and Mark and family. There are just no words how saddened I am about Barb but wanted you to know I am thinking of all of you at this difficult time. Barb was one in a million and I always enjoyed our get togethers when I was in Winnipeg visiting Col and over the years we shared many good times that I will always remember fondly. Barb loved her family and those grand babies were just the icing in the cake! Take care of yourselves and may your many memories bring comfort in the days ahead. • My condolences on the loss of Barb. She was fun to work with. We had a lot of laughs together especially when we all worked overtime. After awhile we would get a bit giddy and laugh ourselves silly. It was a great group to work with. You will have your memories of a wonderful lady to help you through your grief. • I worked with Barb for many years. She was such a hard worker and a good person to be around. She loved Tony and her two boys so much. She told me many stories of her parents and large group of siblings, when they were growing up. Always a smile on her face and ready to help with whatever was needed. Rest in peace Barb, you were a good, kind friend ❤️ - Posted by: Kim Mathews (Old Co worker and friend ) on: Nov 12, 2022

  • I met Barb when she started working in the Jets store St. Vital. I will always remember her for her fun loving nature, her work ethic and incredible customer service. She quickly became a friend to many of senior staff that worked the daytime hours. Over time that small group of us titled ourselves the Jets Golden Girls and had the privilege of sharing many meals and get togethers. Barb loved her family and especially her grandchildren and I loved hearing stories of their adventures together. I will always cherish our time together and I was so fortunate to cross paths with Barb, spend time with her, share family stories, have her give time to my dad when we brought him into the store and make him feel special and ultimately have the honour to call her my friend. Such a very special lady that will be so very missed! - Posted by: Cheryl kohanek (Jets store worker) on: Nov 12, 2022
