It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jeanette Gowen, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on November 2, 2022, after a lengthy illness.
Jeanette, the youngest child of Jessie and Nicholas Znack, was born June 16, 1940 and raised in East Selkirk, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 63 years, Edward, in 2021, her son David in 2018, and her sisters, Mary, Stella, and Anne.
Jeanette was mother to Debbie (Len), Brent (Cindy), Cheryl and David, grandmother to Christopher, Mathew (Amber), Jared, Galen, Katelyn, Nicholas and Sarah and great-grandmother to Lincoln and Lillian.
Jeanette was a quiet woman who enjoyed baking, knitting, embroidery, gardening and travelling with Edward. She cherished visits with family and ensured delicious baking and a plate of cookies for all visitors. We all have treasured blankets, sweaters, and needlework pictures she made with lots of love.
Mom, and Grandma, you will be missed by all. We love you.
Thank you to the staff in Ward 3 of Tuxedo Villa Winnipeg for mom's care.
Memorial donations in Jeanette's name can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
