We just learned of Gordon's passing . We have journeyed with Gordon & Mary over many years. Each of us have had numerous points of contact starting with the U of W & the U of M - then a "sensitivity encounter group" led by Rabbi Zalman Schachter, (where Carol met Gordon) - Neal's course on Jewish Mysticism, where Gordon was a student - publishing Mary's poem in Spider Women - & many on going conversations about the meaning & purpose of life with Gordon. He will be sorely missed. We send our condolences to his family. Rabbi Neal & Carol Rose - Posted by: Rabbi Neal & Carol Rose (friends & colleagues ) on: Mar 16, 2023

I remember well the first time I was ever taught how to meditate, at a weekend retreat led by Gordon and Mary, sometime around 1977 (give or take). I believe it was at St. Benedict's Centre. I was around age 20, perhaps the youngest person there. As well as learning how to meditate, we were guided on reflective writing practices, with Ira Progoff's At A Journal Workshop. A few decades later, those teachings have continued to blossom. One of my favourite spaces is leading similar workshops and since the pandemic started, Zoom events! I will always remember Gordon, and I hold all his loved ones in my heart at this tender time. - Posted by: Elspeth MacEwan (student) on: Nov 13, 2022
