MARGUERITE GEORGINA CRAIG

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing our beloved Marguerite Georgina Craig (Mead) of natural causes. She peacefully left us October 19, 2022, in the Heritage Lodge Care Home.
Marguerite was born November 25, 1937 in Ashern, MB. An Elder of Gull Lake Band No. 42, Marguerite was the youngest of six children of Richard and Catherine Mead. Predeceased by her loving husband Thomas and oldest son Bruce as well as siblings, Dick, Donny, Charlie and Yvonne.
Marguerite is survived by her older sister Lila Yakubec; her two sons, Darryl (Jeannette) and Wayne; grandchildren, Dylan and Kaitlyn and their mother Georgia.
She made the best carrot cake, nanaimo bars, jam cookies and wing wongs in the world! A member of Isaac Brock Community Centre Ladies Auxiliary in the 1970s, she and fellow ladies would run the canteen on many winter weekends serving treats.
An avid reader, Marguerite read many books at the lake - her favourite place. She actually cured her short-sightedness with eye exercises. A sweet, caring lady who would always listen to others and would offer good advice if asked.
Marguerite spent most of her working life in the Print Industry, primarily with Bulman Bros. and Econo Job Printing.
Mom loved to cook and entertain especially Christmas Eve and Bocce Ball. She could be the life of the party but would make sure it ended early if her grandkids were there at the lake.
Although she suffered from Alzheimers that robbed her of her memory, because of the lady she was Mom more than made memories for all that came to know and love her.
She loved laughing, enjoyed people, singing and dancing and would always be a guiding light for all. She was the best. She will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July, 2023.

Love you Mom and lil' Nauni.
Rest peacefully.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Very sad to learn about your mom. There were a lot good times at the lake. She was always cooking up meals for the hungry volleyball players. Later volleyball became Bocci. You had a great mom who loved you both. Uncle Dave, Irene, Brenda and Debbie. - Posted by: Dave Craig ( Uncle) on: Nov 20, 2022
