LOIS LOUISE HEDWIG ANDERSON
Lois (Lulu) Louise Hedwig Anderson (née Brash) died in Richmond Hill, Ontario, November 17, 2022, at the age of 97.
She was born in Pembroke, Ontario on August 11, 1925, the only child of David Louis Brash (1897-1956, born in Locksley, Ontario near Pembroke) and Clara Ruth Elizabeth Berlin (1899-1963, born in Detroit, Michigan). She married David Victor Anderson of Toronto, August 29, 1947 and they had two children, a son, the late Ross David Anderson of Maple, Ontario and a daughter, Laurie (Rae) St. Clair Bridgman, a University of Manitoba professor.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years in 2010, and is survived by her daughter, son-in-law (architect Wins Bridgman), six grandchildren - Kroa, Izak (and his partner Alexis), Aengus (and his partner Justine Emmanuelle), Ez, Nyree, and Amos - and nine great-grandchildren - Nadir, Casmyr, Zarah, Eli, Verity, Asher, Theo, Anya and Simone.
She lived a selfless life and enjoyed a wide circle of friends through her volunteer work at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital (formerly York Central Hospital) and the Maple Health Centre, the Maple United Church, and her many years as an artisan (sewing, leatherwork, copper enamelling, stained glass, jewellery-making) with Kingcrafts Studio in King City. Her memory will be dearly cherished by family and friends.
Thanks go to all the Delmanor Elgin Mills staff who took such good care of her over the years, particularly over these last weeks and months.
There will be a private celebration of her life for immediate family members at a later date.
The family asks that any donations be sent to Kingcrafts Studio (kingcrafts.ca) in her memory, as this was a place where she spent so many joyful hours with a lively community of fellow artists and makers.
