ANNELIESE BRANDAU
Peacefully on October 23, 2022, at Riverview Health Centre, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 97.
She is survived by her son, Kurt (Diane) Ising; grandsons, Kurt (Rosanna) Ising, Chris (Serenity) Ising; great- grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Nick, Kira, Tasha and Rivers, as well as nephew Norman (Marilyn) Becker and nieces, Beatrice (Ed) and Carolyn Becker.
She was predeceased by her first husband Kurt Ising in 1944, her second husband Willi "Bill" in 1984, her grandson Robert in 1991 and her four siblings.
In 1952, Anneliese emigrated with her husband and son from war ravaged Germany to Winnipeg in pursuit of a better life. Through hard work and perseverance life became easier. In 1956, they acquired a piece of paradise at Red Rock Lake, the beginning of a love affair with lake life in the Whiteshell. She was in awe of the wonders of nature and delighted in maintaining an impeccable landscape. In her later years, she relished in her independence and all it encompassed.
Mom, you were a proud, determined, strong, tough, yet loving, caring, generous woman who endured much. We will carry your memory in our hearts and miss you always. May God bless your soul!
At Anneliese's request, a private family service and interment was held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
Our heartfelt thanks to Rev. Meinhardt for his pastoral care, to the staff of Brightwater and Heavenly Care for their comforting support and to Riverview Health Centre for their extraordinary compassion and care.
If desired, donations may be made to a charity of choice in her memory.
