KATHERINE HOEPPNER
(nee DYCK)

With sadness we announce the passing of Katherine Hoeppner (nee Dyck) on November 18, 2022, at age 92.
Katherine is survived by her daughters, Bertha (Wes), Sandra (Iris), Norma (David); grandsons, Evan and Graham; and siblings, Justina, Anne, Abe, Peter and Susan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, David; and siblings, Cornelius, Isaac and Mary.
Katherine grew up on a farm in southern Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg as a young woman, where she met and married David. After raising her daughters, Katherine returned to her work as an administrative assistant in various settings, concluding her work in the Computer Science Department at the University of Manitoba.
In her later years Katherine focused her energies on volunteering at various places including MCC, Riverview Health Centre and Harrow School reading program. She enjoyed a supportive community while living at Bethel Place adjacent to her home church of Bethel Mennonite, where she and David were very active throughout their life together.
Special thanks to the staff at Pembina Place for their excellent care throughout the pandemic.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Special memories of Uncle Dave and Aunt Kathryn stopping in to say hello on their way to Edmonton to visit Uncle Dave's brother. We appreciated their visits so much. It is hard to lose a parent but Aunt Kathryn lived a long and full life. Take comfort in the fact that she loved you girls. We have not had much contact if any as cousins but know our thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time. - Posted by: Richard and Sara Bell (Niece ) on: Nov 23, 2022
