Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I have many wonderful memories of Stan both in Winnipeg and at Wallace Lake. We were both married in the same year for the first time and his wife Jackie was and still is my best friend since Grade 7 at Churchill High School! I remember being part of the team of cheerleaders for his Football team, the Fort Garry Lions. We hung out together with friends from the Riverview area all the time...sometimes raising the dickens & sometimes just having a good time as we were all friends. He knew both of the guys I used to live with and they both thought the world of him! The last time I saw him we went for dinner at Maxime's here in Winnipeg with Gary & Kerry Montgomery...so much fun! Remembered with love & great memories. Rest in peace my friend! Sending my sincere condolences to the family he loved. - Posted by: Margaret Glew (Friend) on: Nov 30, 2022

  • I met Stan when the Tamre's first moved to Winnipeg from Bissett. He had moved into the house across the street on Kylemore Avenue, We lived at 498. Another friend of ours was Tom Dewbury, who lived next door to us. The three of us were like the "Three Musketeers" growing up. Mrs. Rosenberg lived with the Tamre's, and I learned a few words in German from my visits to their home. Our family visited with Stan and his then wife Jacquie when they moved to Vancouver and had a memorable visit. I didn't see Stan until the early 1980's when he tracked me down working for the City of Winnipeg at the Charleswood office. He came to visit us at home, but wouldn't stay for supper as his twins were waiting for him at home. That was our last visit. Our condolences to his family. Stan was good friend. - Posted by: Douglas King (Friend) on: Nov 27, 2022

  • My husband Dave Sloane who passed away in August used to talk about Stan during the days Stan lived on Kylemore Ave. They were such good stories and Dave had such good memories of Stan that I almost felt like I knew him too.
