  • I worked with Gerry in the MPI special investigations unit. He enjoyed his work and all of the people he worked with. He loved his work with Crime Stoppers and the good it did for the City. He had an infectious personality and great sense of humour. He was extremely proud of his family and loved his lake-life with them. He was a true professional and gentleman who is gone too soon and will be missed. My sincere condolences to Noreen and the rest of the family. RIP Gerry. - Posted by: Brent Richards (Co-worker) on: Nov 29, 2022

  • Gerry was truly one of the good guys. Friendly, and always had a huge smile. Met Gerry back in the summer of 1967. Many a hot, late summer day were spent in the grass field near Willow Park playing an intense game of touch football with the combatants being Gerry and his buddies. (They were in the age 23-25 range) VS my 16 year old pals and I. It was great fun. And all I can say is it's a darn good thing my buds and I could run, because the game morphed beyond touch football sometimes. Great memories!! I never had the opportunity to work with Gerry, but when I saw him he'd always chuckle about our football days. Always had great respect for Gerry, and very sad that he's left us. R.I.P. Gerry. - Posted by: James Freeman (Co worker) on: Nov 28, 2022

  • I knew Gerry and his family from around age 8- 10 , when they got a cottage near us on Lake Winnipeg . His cousins, the VanderVekens, were our neighbours and we were all about the same age, so we were all friends for many summers. They used to have a police officer picnic at his cousins each summer (across the road from us) and at 5 ft 10 my Dad was usually the shortest of the men there. Later on when I returned from Saskatchewan university I got reacquainted with Gerry and his family thru the dog show world. Our paths crossed off and on over many years. My and Han’s condolences to the family at this sad time. - Posted by: Joan Stewart-Hay (Long time friend ) on: Nov 26, 2022
