EDWARD JOHN COOPER
Peacefully on November 25, 2022, Ed Cooper took his last breath holding the hand of his wife Gloria on their 60th anniversary.
Ed is survived his wife Gloria (Weidner) daughter Tannis Fuller (Ray), son Warren (Michelle) and son Chris (Lisa) grandchildren Kaitlyn (Karim), Melissa, Nick (Holly) Michael, Will, Alex Jasmine (Travis) and his great-grandson Aydin. His brother Ken Cooper (Lynn), sister Cec Hanec, sister-in-law Marlene Cooper and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents John and Stella, brother Steve, brother-in-law Irv and great-granddaughter Mya.
Ed was born and raised in St. Vital and attended Windsor and Glenlawn . he finished his schooling at St Paul's but as per his grade 12 yearbook quote "But sir I have to play hockey" he left early to start on his career.
He met Gloria at the tender age of 20 and married soon after together they had three children and worked very hard to provide for them.
Ed founded Cooper Business Forms in 1977 and all three of his children joined him. He was very happy and proud that his son Chris took over the family business in August to continue the family tradition.
He loved his family and was unbelievably proud of his grandchildren. . He also loved being right . A cheap beer hot chicken wings fast cars and boats protecting his garden from the deer which sadly was a losing proposition and anything on sale.
He played hockey for the St. Boniface Seals for over 30 years and was affectionately known as Elbows Eddie.
He loved his family's cabin at Falcon Lake and was a fabulous water skier. He then bought his own place at Lake of the Woods which he and Gloria spent glorious summer days while winters were spent in hot destinations all over the world but his favourite winter retreat was in Mesa where he and Gloria welcomed friends and family to their Mesa home.
Our family would like to thank his friends and caregivers for supporting him as he fought till the very end of his life.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held on December 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
Please no flowers but a donation to the Children's Hospital Guild in his memory would be very much appreciated!
He was one of a kind and we will always love him and never forget him

Mr. Cooper that is what I called him growing up. It meant Amazingly Brilliantly Kind. Gloria and Ted were always over. Family with my Mom and Dad. I remember his boat, and countless hockey stories. I'm sad and sorry for your loss. But know this His spirit is with you! Love, Jenn - Posted by: Jennifer knight (Family Friend) on: Sep 17, 2023

My deepest condolences to the entire Cooper Family especially Chris and Lisa. I met Ed through Chris when my company began ordering custom Business Forms and had a great relationship with both of them, doing multiple A/C repairs to all those older Luxury Cars he used to buy. Had to be at the right price though, right Chris!!!! Love you Guys. Rocky - Posted by: Rocky (Friend/Customer) on: Nov 30, 2022

You could always count on Eddie to be at all the Seals games. He was a team supporter even after getting devastating news from his doctor that he couldn't play anymore. We had many a laugh and discussion about ref calls over beer and wings at the Palomino Club. - Posted by: Chris Marsh (Seals Hockey) on: Nov 30, 2022
