RUBY OYE
1930 – 2022

Ruby Oye passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital, November 21, 2022, aged of 92.
She was born in Strawberry Hill, BC in 1930. Her family was relocated to rural Manitoba sugar beet farms in 1942 and eventually settled in Winnipeg. There, Ruby met Tatsumi (Richard) Oye whom she married in 1953. They soon moved to Thunder Bay, ON. After Richard died, she moved to Lethbridge in 2007.
Ruby always sought out fun adventures: impromptu motorcycle rides and horseback riding in Hawaii at age 80, dancing, singing, and activities with friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard; parents, Masajiro and Tsuya; and siblings and their spouses, Mas (Aster) Nagamori, Sid (Bette) Nagamori, Bunny (Eyemoto) Nagamori, Mary (Bert) Watkins, Ray Nagamori, Bruce Hashimoto, and Toru Hosaki. She is survived by her brother Tad Nagamori, sisters, Faye Hashimoto and Lily Hosaki, and two daughters, Janine Oye (Tick Kariya) and Deanna Oye (Michel Carbonneau).
Ruby's life will be celebrated with her family at a later date.
