LARRY AUGUSTINE MORRISSEAU
June 18, 1947 - November 28, 2022


It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Larry, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and great-uncle, who passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
Larry grew up in Sagkeeng and attended the Fort Alexander Residential School until grade 8 then he attended Powerview School for a year before moving to Winnipeg. He was the oldest son in a large family. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Lillian, his daughter Crystal, his son Michael, his sister Donna, his nieces, Merrily and Tracey, great-nephew Phoenix, brother-in-law Leonard, and his infant brothers, Adrian, Peter and Paul.
He is survived by his children, Troy, Gloria, Frank, Kirsten, Larry Junior, Chastity, Miranda, Travis, Tessa and Brayden; his siblings, Valerie (George), Theresa (Lloyd), Lesley (Liz), Deborah, Marvin, Kimberly and Claude. He also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Larry was a certified carpenter who graduated from Red River Community College, he worked in his home community for many years. Larry was known for his loyalty to his family and his devotion to his religion. Larry also enjoyed a good joke, watching wrestling on TV and western movies.
Pallbearers will be Travis Twoheart, Draven Levesque, Troy, Lesley, Claude, and Nolan Morrisseau. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Schacht and Jarrid Morrisseau. There will be a wake service on Thursday, December 1 at the Christ Church Hall (Anglican) Sagkeeng First Nation, followed by the funeral service on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. presided over by Father Augustine at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, cremation to follow and interment at a later date.
