KAREN LEE GAFFRAY
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Lee Gaffray; she passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 60. Her health had been in decline the past few years.
Karen was predeceased by her father Lawrie. She leaves behind to mourn her, her son Christopher, her mother Valerie, her brother Ron, her sister Jan, her niece, Angela, and her nephews Ryan, and Joluca. Also to mourn Karen's passing are her aunts and uncles and cousins in Canada and Italy.
In her teens she spent the better part of a year at her Aunt and Uncle's farm in Italy, taking care of several horses, and helping take care of two young cousins. She learned to ride and to groom the horses, and to clean their stalls.
Though health problems troubled Karen beginning in her teen years, she had many talents, chief of which were drawing, cooking, gardening, fence building, and tiling floors. There were few things that deterred her; once she did something, it stayed made or fixed. Her garden included a grape vine, flowers, and a fish pond. She would keep fish in the aquarium during the winter months and move them to the outside pond once the warm weather arrived. She worked hard at being a great homemaker. Her greatest joy was raising her son: they spent many summers fishing and camping. She also went to all his basketball games and practices.
A service is to be planned at a later date.
