ELIZABETH STAMLER


On December 1, 2022, our mother Elizabeth Stamler went to join our father Frank, her mother Katherina and brothers Andrew and George. She passed away peacefully at Meadowood Manor with her family in attendance.
She was born on Tuesday, May 3, 1927, in Sprague, MB to newly arrived immigrants. She was the first infant born in Canada seen by her future husband, Frank. She married Frank in January, 1945. They welcomed Phyllis (John) in May, 1945, Andrew (Marie) in April, 1946 and Allan (Lynnette) completed the trio in October, 1954.  She is remembered by her: granddaughter Katherine (Dan) Ollson, great-grandson Gregory (Kathryn) and great-great-grandchildren Zachary and Jessica; great-grandson Christopher (Amanda) and great-great-grandchild Ava, and great-granddaughter Nicole (Matthew); grandson John Robinson (Erin), great-granddaughter Mia; grandsons, Michael Stamler; Daniel Stamler (Lisa) and great-grandchildren Matthew and Chloe, and her sister Kay (Carl) Machej.
She was predeceased by her brother Andrew Listmayer (1944), parents Katherina (1955) and Andrew Listmayer (1986), husband Frank Stamler (1998), half-brother Andrew Weber (2003), and brother George Listmayer (2014).
Elizabeth was an eager volunteer in many church activities, and retired in 1987 from Misericordia General Hospital housekeeping department.
A Service of Life and Remembrance will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on December 7 at 2:00 p.m., reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Fort Garry Women's Resource Centre or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
