I met Russel many years ago, while walking the trails along Wellington Cres. He explained at the time that he had grown up as the son of a staff-member at one of the large homes along the street and was recalling his childhood in the area. I think the last time that we met was about 2 years ago at City Place. He seemed a very interesting Fellow. - Posted by: R. Ginter (acquaintance) on: Dec 30, 2022

I am so shocked to hear this! Russell offered lots of knowledge about Tai Chi and I recall watching him do a Sabre set--so peaceful and relaxing to observe. As I'm thinking about him, I remember his hearty laugh when an occasion warranted it! 'And I remember him speaking of attending the Montreal Jazz Festival, and seemed quite the jazz fan. Rest in peace, Russell. To family and friends: keep the memories close. - Posted by: Debra Litkowich (Tai Chi ) on: Dec 17, 2022

Russell was exact in his tai chi and every bit as good as any instructor here and abroad. His understanding of tai chi was exceptional. We had good times playing tai chi and tai chi practice sabre together. Always got a kick out of his sense of humour. His laugh and smile will stay with me in fond memories of him. Hope he gets to play tai chi in heaven. Condolences to Russell's family and other friends. - Posted by: Cliff Yerex (Friend, Tai Chi) on: Dec 14, 2022
