Dear Brent, Monica, Reese and Dylan, My condolences to all. Growing up in Elmwood, I knew your Mom in our childhood days, a favorite friend, became her cousin (in law). I had a very close relationship with your Mom and Dad Ron. Loved them dearly. A very gracious lady. her smile and kindness I cherish. When we heard that Doreen passed, we remembered how warm she was to us when we first were in Winnipeg. She was so welcoming to us as Brent’s friends and she always had an open door policy. She loved to laugh and was so proud of Brent. We will miss her but he will lose his Mom and his lifelong supporter. No one can take the place of “Mom” but Brent will have her watching him and his family and smiling… forever. - Posted by: Bruce and Audrey Bain (Friends ) on: Dec 18, 2022

Doreen and her husband Ron were lifelong friends of my parents Wilbert and Eleanor Melvin. Dad and Ron were buddies but mum and Doreen were close. Christmas Eve parties at our house were where they caught up on the years latest news and events dressed beautifully, laughing and sometimes crying. I adored her beauty and poise and her laugh. They were good friends and I will always remember that. - Posted by: Noraleen Loewen (Friends of the family) on: Dec 18, 2022

My deepest condolences to Brent, Monica, and all of Doreen's family members and close friends. Doe, as my Mom & Dad (Eleanor & Mel), addressed her, was a “movie star”, in my eyes. We Melvin children, had known her our whole lives. She was elegant, witty & intelligent. I loved & respected her. She’ be sorely missed, by many. Rest In Peace, dear Doreen. - Posted by: Maureen Melvin-Elias (Very good, long time friend of family.) on: Dec 16, 2022

My sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom/Grandmother! I worked with Doreen at the Legislative Building in the early 1980s, she was a lovely lady! I enjoyed working under her! I have a couple of pics of her, but it appears I can't load them here. - Posted by: Deborah Giguere (Co-worker in 1980s) on: Dec 15, 2022
