Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySLOANE: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Watt Sloane, who left us on November 29, 2022, at the age of 62 years. Karen was born on November 8, 1960, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She was the second youngest of 10 children. Growing up she moved from Saskatoon to Prince Albert and finally resided in Brandon, where she attended high school at Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School. While living in Brandon, she spent lots of time with family in Carberry, watched her brother play basketball for the Brandon Bobcats, and worked at the Brandon Hospital as a health care aide. After the birth of her daughter Meighan she moved up to Swan River to be with her partner Stephen. A few years later they moved to their acreage east of the airport, where she and Stephen welcomed sons Josh, Nicholas, and Graeme to their family. She worked for Association for Community Living for 15 years and enjoyed many days of gardening, painting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Karen is survived and will be missed by her children Meighan (Barry), Josh (Caitlin), Nicholas, and Graeme; grandchildren Caleb, Joey, and Linda; brothers Wayne (Colleen), Doug (Lynn), Warren (Jill), Harold (Muriel), Ron (Celine), and Larry (Julie); along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Lillian; siblings Merv, Al, Randy, Melvin, and Debbie Rose; and partner Stephen. In keeping with Karen's wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Karen may be made to the Swan River Special Olympics, Box 845, Swan River, Manitoba R0L 1Z0 or Swan Valley Health Facilities - Chemo Unit, Box 1450, Swan River, Manitoba R0L 1Z0."
