LEONARD ALLAN THOMPSON
December 23, 1961 – December 6, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Leonard (Len) in Calgary, AB on December 6, 2022.
Left to mourn this loss are his mother Eunice (Davies), sisters, Deb (Ron Skrabek and family), Sharon (Greg Slater and family), brothers, James, Gord and Kyle. Also missing him is spouse Leanne (King), daughter Brittany (Kris Deines) and his grandchildren, Lincoln and Sloan. Many extended family members in Manitoba, Alberta and BC.
Len was born in Teulon, MB, moved to Winnipeg when he was five years of age and in 1983 headed west to High River, AB where he resided until his passing. He was employed in construction starting as a Brick Layer Helper and through his years moved up to be Superintendent with many Commercial Construction Co. in Calgary and surrounding areas.
Len was never in a rush, easy-going, a hard worker, had a wonderful sense of humour, loved listening to his music with a cold beer in the garage. Len also did many home repairs throughout his years. Whether it was helping Brittany in Lethbridge with her company business remodel or rebuilding their home from two overland floods. This was always accompanied by him whistling a tune.
When Len did a job, he worked until it was completed except for the last one in Moose Jaw - only because of his fierce battle with Influenza A and Bacterial Pneumonia.
Len loved being outdoors, either playing golf, fishing with his friend Doug, or trips to Fernie, BC with his grandchildren watching them ski, swim or relax by the pool. At home he could be seen tending to his meticulous yard, his small garden or walking his dog(s).
Heartfelt thanks go out to the many ICU Doctors and Nurses at South Health Campus who worked so hard to heal Len.

Len, you fought a hard battle,
but the monster won.
We will forever love you, miss you and
keep you in our hearts.
"Go Rest High on the Mountain Len,
your Work on this Earth is Done"

  • We wish our deepest sympathy to Auntie Eunice and her family of the loss of our dear cousin, Leonard (Len). We remember our families visiting each other years ago, we were kids then and we would hang-out with cousin Len and our other cousins. Len was such a happy-go-lucky and fun guy. We will miss you and always remember you, Len! May God's peace be with all the family. In our thoughts, Love, Cousins, Karen & Mike Robidoux. - Posted by: Karen & Michael Robidoux (sister and brother (cousins to Len)) on: Dec 22, 2022
