RUTH MAY (WEBSTER) CHANDLER
1923 - 2022


Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bob and Neil (Cara) Chandler, Elaine Banerjee; grandchildren, Ken (Leiah), Marc, Conor (Mallory) and Laura (Jeremy); and great-grandchildren, Clea, Freyja, Saoirse and Bronwyn. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond; sister Irene; and brothers, Glen and Lloyd.
She lived on a farm near Roland, Manitoba until graduating from nurse's training at St. Boniface Hospital in 1945. In 1947 she married Ray. Winnipeg was her home for the rest of her life. After Ray died in 1975 she trained as a travel agent. She enjoyed travelling the world well into her eighties.
Ruth was always available to help friends and family whenever called upon. She was an active member of Prairie Spirit (Sturgeon Creek) United Church for 55 years and lived in Sturgeon Creek assisted living for 11 years before going into Tuxedo Villa.

  • Please accept my condolences to all of Ruth’s family. My mom, June Bates, lived across the hall from Ruth at Sturgeon Creek retirement home for over six years. Ruth was a lovely neighbour and friend to my mom which helped make Sturgeon Creek a wonderful place to live.
