IMELDA MAYNARD
(nee SABOURIN)

Imelda spent her youth in St-Jean-Baptiste, until she married the man of her dreams, Georges. A farm girl, with a strong work ethic, she quickly adjusted to her new home in St-Malo, assisting Georges on the farm, raising a family, and tending to a large vegetable garden. She was also part of the original personnel at the Repos Jolys as a Health Care Aide when it first opened in 1975 where she worked for several years.
Imelda was a pillar of strength, a woman of great faith and courage, and an example to follow. Her greatest joy in life was her late husband, Georges, and their family. With strong family values and a nurturing heart, she always knew how to make everyone feel better, providing great and practical advice. With Mom at the heart of it, our home was full of laughter, fun, warmth, and love. She always encouraged her children in their endeavours and was always available for them. Her caregiving to our father in his last years while he was ill, was truly inspirational.
Mom, thank you for sharing your life with us. We will miss you more than words could ever describe. You were such an integral part of our lives. We will never forget your teachings, your wisdom, your nurturing ways, your mischievous smile, your strong sense of family, your deep love, your positive and pragmatic approach to life's challenges, and the strong faith that you instilled in us. Maman, nous t'aimerons toujours.
The family sends a heartfelt thanks to the Repos Jolys staff and the St-Pierre-Jolys hospital staff for taking such great care of Mom and showing her love over the past few years.
A public Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the spring at the St-Malo Catholic Church, St-Malo, Manitoba. The date of the funeral will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Repos Jolys.
