Jimmy was a kind, caring, smart person, who was a longtime friend of my mom, Addie's. They connected through a circle of strong, passionate, brilliant and often hilarious women who - fueled by good food and drink - would spend hours discussing, debating, and sometimes quite vehemently arguing about the important issues of the world and how best to solve them. On behalf of Addie and our family, sincere condolences to Jimmy's family. - Posted by: Kathy Penner (friend) on: Feb 01, 2023

I can still hear Jimmy's vibrant laugh from the other room at the Silden's cottage, which I remember fondly as a little girl . My recollection of Jimmy was that she was very warm and open to our family, taking us in and sharing with us this beautiful and humble space at Falcon Lake. Mesh of course tinkered with who knows what machinery in the background. As one of my mom's good friends, Jimmy extended herself to me as a kind of auntie. Later I had the opportunity to briefly reconnect with Jimmy as an adult and found her to be likeminded in her passion for social justice and Winnipeg roots. My condolences to the family, especially to John and my early classmate, Ken, who have both gone through so much already over the past years. May you be surrounded by love. - Posted by: Karen Fainman (Friends of family) on: Jan 08, 2023

Jimmy and I worked together in the Planning Secretariat of the Schreyer government in 1975-76. She was a dear woman who was there for me at a time I needed a friend very badly. May her memory be a blessing and may she rest in peace. - Posted by: Jerry Williams (Friend and Co-Worker) on: Jan 07, 2023

Jimmy was the GM when I worked for CIDO in the Sound Recording department. Her contributions to the growth of the film and music industry in Manitoba will always be remembered. - Posted by: Shaleem Hosein (Former employee) on: Jan 06, 2023
