DELBERT (DEL) BUXTON
It is with heavy hearts we share that Delbert (Del) Buxton, 86, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Grace Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Nicky; his children, Lori (Tony), Doug, Darren (Darcie), Derek (Sharie); grandchildren, Lori (Rene), Carlie (Scott), Ashley (Tyler), Eric, Melissa (Chad) and McKenzie; and great-grandchildren, Landen, Mason, Braxton, Kole and Teegan.
Del was a devoted husband and father, a kind, gentle and loving man. He was happily married to the love of his life for 63 years. He was the backbone of our family, always putting the needs of others before his own. He was happiest when his family gathered to celebrate a special occasion or simply to enjoy being together.
Del spent many years coaching and supporting his sons' keen interest in hockey and baseball. He was also an avid Jets fan, enjoyed golfing, and never missed following a curling bonspiel.
Del and Nicky enjoyed their regular road trips to Vancouver to visit Lori and Tony, and Florida with good friends Larry and Dorothy "Dot".
A private family gathering will take place this spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, www.cancer.ca.
