Our beloved husband, dad, and saba passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022, at the age of 95 years.
He is survived by Judith, his cherished wife of 70+ years, his adored children, Pamela, Kim (Tom z"l), and Steven (Jodi), and his treasured grandchildren, Kinneret, Samuel, and Theodore. Nothing brought him greater pleasure than being surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Winnipeg in 1927, Norman was the baby of his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Chana, and his siblings, Sam, Beth, Sonia, Sylvia, and Bill.
His life was full and rich. Super salesman. Passionate golfer (seven holes-in-one!). Great athlete. Baseball coach. Hockey coach. Hilarious joke-teller. Latke-maker. Smart dresser. Wonderful dancer. And so much more...
YMHA. Glendale. Shaarey Zedek. Rady Centre. Maui...
Mentor. Role model. Friend...
Charming. Funny. Respected. Honoured. Admired. Kind. Generous. Gentle. A smile that lit up a room. A good man.
He lived his life with honesty, integrity, laughter, and so much love.
We are grateful for all who enabled Norman to live his best life until the end.
The funeral was held in Winnipeg on November 27.
Memorial donations may be made to Jewish Foundation of Manitoba (Norman and Judith Bager Fund), www.jewishfoundation.org 204-477-7525, or a charity of your choice.
As Norman wrote in the Foundation's Endowment Book of Life: "All in all, I consider myself to be the luckiest, wealthiest man on earth...my treasures are my wife, our three children and our three precious grandchildren, who have given me unbounded joy, pleasure, and 'naches'."
