ALBERT DENIS RICHARDSON
Date of passing: December 29, 2022

Denis passed away peacefully Thursday, December 29, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital at 89 years of age.
He was born on March 22, 1933 and grew up in East Selkirk before moving to Winnipeg when he married Phyllis.
He leaves to mourn his daughter Cheryl, his son Terry (Nancy), granddaughters, Sarah (Andrew) and Candace (Scott) and his great-grandchildren, Jayden, Madison and Ellena, his brother Jack, his stepdaughters, Cindy (Mike), Sandie (Gord), Gaylene (David) and Teri (Bill), step-grandchildren, Sean, Tyler, Troy, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Stephanie and Tianna, numerous nephews and nieces, his friends, Dan and Olive, and all their extended families. Denis was predeceased by his wives, Phyllis in 1993 and Trudi in 2016, his parents, Helen and Horace Richardson and his sister and brother-in-law Donna and Len.
Denis spent the majority of his work life in the camera departments of the downtown Bay store and for a few years, the first K-Mart to open in Winnipeg on Henderson Highway. After retiring from the Bay, he continued working as a courier for a number of years. He had a lifelong love of hockey both as a fan and player. He was the goalie for numerous teams from his childhood and well into his 50s when his chronic back issues finally forced him to stop playing. He also loved golfing and road trips to numerous places in Canada and the USA especially if it included staying at casinos where he could play the penny slots.
Special thanks to the staff at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg and to his close friend and fellow resident, Kate.
As per Denis' instructions, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba would be greatly appreciated.
