HENRY REMPEL
March 8, 1927 - December 18, 2022
In the early morning of Sunday, December 18, 2022, Henry Rempel, 95 years of age, passed away peacefully at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. Henry was born March 8, 1927 to Isbrand and Katherina Rempel near Miami, Manitoba.
He was the fourth child in the family of seven children and the first born in Canada. The family moved that spring to a farm near Springstein, MB where Henry and the family grew up. Henry met the love of his life Anne (Dyck) and they were married on June 30, 1951.
He leaves behind his wife of 71 years, Anne (nee Dyck), his daughter Debbie Thiessen (nee Rempel) and son Terry Rempel (Cheryl); grandsons, Matthew Thiessen (Brittney) and Steven Rempel; granddaughters, Alicia Thiessen, Lesley Rautenbach (Mark) and Jamie Keyes (Corey); great-grandchildren, Elena, Eli, Conor, Lyla and Ellie. He is survived by his sister Hilda Wallman (nee Rempel). Henry was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Lorna Rempel (nee Harms) in 2018.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home for their care and consideration of Henry.
A Celebration of Life for Henry Rempel will be held on Thursday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Springstein Mennonite Church, Springstein, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Food Grains Bank, 393 Portage Avenue #400, Winnipeg, MB R3B 3H6.
