1949 - 2023
Sadly, Bob Downes passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on January 4, 2023.
He will be mourned by his beloved wife Barb, daughter Sarah (Darin), stepdaughter Carolyn (Dave), stepson Sean (Emily), sister Betty, niece Cathy, nephew Colin (Vanessa) and extended family and friends. He will also be missed by his furry friends, Lily and Mia.
He was predeceased by his parents, Wilbert and Margaret Downes.
He spent most of his career working as a welder with the Province of Manitoba, Department of Highways. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping (especially his campfires), woodworking and attending dog shows.
We would like to thank Dr. Macauley, Dr. Kansara (CancerCare Manitoba) and the doctors, nurses and staff on the Palliative Care ward at Riverview Health Centre for their excellent care.
In accordance with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and a small gathering and interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
