Paul Frank Chappie, born June 2, 1932, died peacefully at home on January 4, 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Mary T. Fabris, many nieces and nephews and their families, and the extended Brown family of Calgary. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary Chappie, his two sisters and five half brothers, and his adopted family, the Websters.

Many years ago Paul asked me if I knew he could sing “New York, New York” backwards. Well, I didn’t know Paul could, so he jumped on the chance to sing, “Start spreading the news…” as he walked backwards. I often requested—and thought of— his “backwards” rendition ever since. Mary, Paul gloried in his love for you over all the years. You made each other laugh which was then contagious to all around you, both in Winnipeg and in Kelowna and on all your travels together.
